Artist Statement
I am a mixed-media artist with a love for the obscure. My shark egg collection started while I was collecting flotsam and jetsam on the beach. A natural inclination towards repairing broken and repurposing discarded items informs my practice to a large extent. I love transforming one object into another. It also addresses the ‘fear of the blank page’. A found object is always an activated canvas.
My recent discovery of the concept of intermediality opens up endless possibilities for integrative artworks. The exciting process of drawing, photographing, and working on a print again in inks and pastels is an extremely versatile and satisfying process.
